Ropey Skirt
When my Nanna wanted to convey that something might not be quite up to standard, she'd describe it as a bit “ropey.” This delightful skirt went through two prototypes before achieving the perfect fit, and let me tell you, the first version was undeniably ropey! Thankfully, the only ropey aspect now comes from the intricate knotwork and stunning cable designs that adorn this fashionable piece :)
This versatile skirt can be effortlessly styled for different seasons: wear it with tights and boots during chilly weather, or pair it with a light tank top or blouse when the sun is shining. It's perfect for any occasion, whether you're heading to a casual gathering or just enjoying a leisurely day.
The sample uses Skeinz New Zealand’s wonderful Heritage Silver Lining yarn, crafted from Rare Breed Merino, in the beautiful colorway of Clearview Blue. While this yarn is recommended for its exceptional quality, feel free to choose an alternative yarn; just keep in mind that your total yardage may differ based on your selection. This pattern is a fantastic way to showcase your favorite yarn!
If you're new to knitting cables, I highly recommend practicing a few swatches from the charts before diving into the skirt pattern. Please note that the charts and accompanying stitch table are specifically designed for in-the-round knitting, making it easier for you to follow along.
The pattern features both written and charted instructions to accommodate your knitting style, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable crafting experience. Available sizes include women's S (M, L, XL), designed to fit approximately 26” (30”, 34”, 38”) waist measurements. Don’t miss out on the chance to create a stunning piece that will add a unique touch to your wardrobe!
