Roses and Cloverleaf Cardigan - knitting pattern

Roses and Cloverleaf Cardigan

$6.00

About the Design: This exquisite knitting pattern features a large motif derived from an early 1700s multiple harness weaving draft known as “Little Roses and Cloverleaf in Point Twill.” This historical design adds a touch of timeless elegance to your knitting project, making it perfect for both traditional and contemporary wardrobes.

The construction utilizes a classic Norwegian-style drop shoulder design, enhancing comfort and ease of movement. The body is expertly knit in the round using a circular method, incorporating steeks for that authentic Scandinavian feel. The sleeves are crafted from the cuffs upward and are sewn in for a polished finish, ensuring a seamless look. To add texture and style, corrugated ribbing trims the lower edge of the body, neck edge, and sleeve cuffs. A St st facing borders the front bands for a refined finish. For an added touch of sophistication, pewter clasps adorn the garment, although you also have the option to sew in a zipper for a more modern aesthetic!

Materials Needed:
You will need 5 skeins of Brown Sheep **Lamb’s Pride Worsted (85% wool / 15% mohair, 190 yds / 4 oz): 5 skeins in M-02 Brown Heather (BH), 3 skeins in M-181 Prairie Fire (PF), along with 1 skein each of M-140 Aran (A) and M-01 Sandy Heather (SH). This high-quality yarn ensures a cozy and durable finish to your project, making it perfect for chilly days.

Gauge: To achieve the desired fit and appearance, it's important to maintain the correct gauge. You should aim for 20 stitches and 26 rounds = 4” (10 cm) over the Lice Chart when using size 7 needles. For the Yoke Chart, the gauge should be 20 stitches and 22 rounds = 4” with the same size 7 needles, or adjust as necessary to meet these measurements. To ensure your project turns out beautifully, take a moment to check your gauge before starting.
