Roxborough Hat and Mitts
This delightful pale pink shade, known as Wood Dove, truly deserves to be knit into a stunning piece. I believe it provides the perfect finishing touch to this charming collection. For this project, I incorporated one repeat of the exquisite Shetland bead insertion, and took the opportunity to creatively experiment with the ribbing technique.
The hat, designed in a fitted beanie style, allows the ribbing to spread out beautifully, lending a wonderful texture and visual appeal. I particularly love how the reverse ribbing serves as an accent against the main background of the hat body, creating a dynamic contrast. As we reach the crown, the decreases artfully continue to weave in the single ribs, enhancing the overall shaping of the hat.
In keeping with the hat's theme, I also crafted a pair of simple yet stylish mitts using the leftover yarn. Again, I chose to explore the ribbing, but this time, I omitted the lace for a more streamlined look. Both projects are quick, fun, and easily customizable, making them ideal for knitters of all skill levels. They’re a perfect way to experiment with the stunning array of colors that O-Wool offers, or simply a clever use for any sweater yarn leftovers you might have on hand.
