Rozalka
Introducing the Rozalka Shawl, a beautifully crafted bottom-up shawl that begins with just 3 stitches and elegantly builds in volume as you knit. This shawl features a rustic appearance and serves as the perfect sister pattern to my other design, Jagienka. Both shawls are constructed in a similar manner, making them intuitive and enjoyable to create, as well as delightful to wear during any occasion.
The Rozalka Shawl pattern incorporates a variety of knitting techniques, including knits, purls, and basic lace stitches on the right side. The wrong side features a simple yet effective combination of knits and purls, ideal for those looking to enhance their skills. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, you will find this pattern welcoming and easy to follow.
This versatile knitting pattern can be easily customized to suit your personal style. Yarn – The Rozalka Shawl is adaptable to various yarn types, ranging from fingering to DK weight. For my personal project, I used 250g / 800m / 875 yards of Garnstudio Drops Safran, a soft and breathable 100% cotton yarn, paired with US 2½ / 3mm needles. The finished shawl measures an impressive 81 x 197 cm / 32 x 78 inches when blocked. I selected cotton to create a lightweight summer shawl, perfect for cooler moments during warm holidays. However, this pattern would also thrive in warmer yarns, making it a fantastic choice for cozy, colder months.
