I was already familiar with Miss Babs' exquisite yarns from my previous work designing the Alpine Water Shawl, but my enthusiasm grew when I stumbled upon a stunning gradient shawl online. Intrigued by the possibilities, I reached out to Miss Babs to inquire whether she offered custom-dyed gradient sets. To my delight, she responded enthusiastically, expressing her willingness to create a unique color set just for me.

After a thorough discussion about my vision, I gathered inspiration by sending her color samples I found on Pinterest, focusing on my favorite shades of purplish hues. Drawing from these inspirations, Miss Babs crafted a breathtaking gradient set, rich in deep and vibrant purples that truly captured the essence of my design.

The gradient colors paired beautifully with a carefully chosen slip stitch pattern, showcasing the inherent beauty of Miss Babs' yarn and reminiscent of the diverse colors and textures found in sea glass. This delightful inspiration led to the naming of the shawl: “Sea Gems.”

Gauge: 20 stitches and 38 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch after blocking. While achieving the correct gauge is not strictly essential, please note that variations in gauge will affect the final measurements and total yardage required for the shawl.
