I designed this hat while visiting the awe-inspiring Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, where I took the opportunity to learn about our ancestors who immigrated from Europe in search of a better life. The unique meergruen yarn I chose evokes the stunning, aged copper patina of Lady Liberty herself. With intricate “stars and stripes” motifs, this hat features stranded knitting techniques combined with slipped stitches to minimize any jogs in the pattern. This creates a seamless flow, ensuring your project turns out beautifully!
PATTERN DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Intermediate. This pattern requires a variety of skills including provisional cast-on (using a very basic crochet method), working in the round, mastering slipped stitches, and performing stranded colorwork.
