Shade Garden Shawl 121
Wrap yourself in something truly luscious with our stunning chevron-shaped shawl knitting pattern! This easy-to-wear design is expertly crafted from the bottom upward, making it perfect for knitters of all skill levels. The decorative leaf-shaped finials enhance the all-over leaf motif, adding an elegant touch to this beautiful piece. You can choose to follow either the comprehensive written pattern or the fully charted instructions, as both methods are included in the downloadable pattern PDF. This unique pattern is a special collaboration between Michelle Porter and Sweet Paprika Designs, and it was developed specifically for the FAUX FROLIC, a Toronto Knitters Guild Virtual Fibre Festival event.
For this project, you will need Sweet Paprika MINUET DK, a lightweight yarn made from 100% superwash merino wool. Each skein offers approximately 200 meters (220 yards) per 100 grams (3½ ounces), and the color shown in the pattern is Cardamom. You will require approximately 630 meters (689 yards) to complete the entire shawl, so be sure to stock up on this luxurious yarn!
In terms of tools, you will need a 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle with a length of 80 cm (32 inches) to work in rows, or a size that will help you achieve the correct tension. If you prefer, you can also use a long straight pair of needles. Other essential notions include a large stitch holder or a spare needle, one locking stitch marker, and a yarn needle to weave in those ends beautifully.
Included with your pattern purchase are detailed swatch instructions, a comprehensive glossary of terms, and a schematic to guide you through the process. Get ready to create a stunning piece that will not only keep you warm but also showcase your knitting skills at any gathering!
