Sherlock’s Great Afghan Adventure is an exciting, year-long mystery read and knit-along that combines the thrill of knitting with the intrigue of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic short stories. Starting on March 16, 2019, participants will experience a captivating journey filled with twists and turns that will delight both mystery lovers and knitting enthusiasts alike. This project is perfect for adventurous beginners as well as intermediate fiber warriors looking to challenge their skills.
The knitting pattern for this unique afghan is designed to be worked flat, featuring 12 distinct squares that you'll seam together to create a stunning finished piece. After assembling the squares, you will also apply a beautiful border to complete your masterpiece. In addition to the main squares, you’ll receive four bonus character squares inspired by iconic figures from the Sherlock Holmes stories, along with 16 smaller two-third squares, providing you with a variety of design options to explore and customize your Afghan. Each square's directions are both written and charted for ease of use, catering to different knitting preferences.
Gauge is not critical for this project, allowing you plenty of creative freedom. If you prefer to use a different weight yarn or needle size, feel free to experiment! Just ensure that you maintain consistent gauge throughout the entirety of the project for the best results.
