Sisters, Not Twins
Transform your knitting experience with these charming ribbed eyelet lace socks, perfect for those delightful summer evenings when the temperature dips just enough to warrant cozy coverage for your feet. These stylish socks are also ideal for chilly mornings when you want to avoid the discomfort of cold floors! Crafted using the exclusive Two Sisters and Some Yarn Set from Sweet Mountain Crafts, these socks echo the warm camaraderie of the beloved podcast of the same name.
Yarn: The socks are knitted with Sweet Mountain Crafts Scree Sock yarn, made of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon, ensuring both comfort and durability. Each skein contains 389 yards (100g). The Two Sisters and Some Yarn set includes a full skein of the main color, along with two delightful mini skeins (one in vibrant purple and the other in soothing aqua), each measuring 78 yards (20g). For my medium, size 10 sock design, I utilized a total of 211 yards: approximately 117 yards of the main color and 46 yards from each of the mini skeins.
Needles: You will need a set of 5 double-pointed needles or two circular needles in size 2 US (2.75 mm). Be sure to choose the needle size that allows you to obtain the perfect gauge for your project.
Gauge: Achieve a gauge of 8 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch when knitting these lovely socks in the round. This gauge is essential for ensuring a snug and comfortable fit.
