Sisters Socks
Discover an easy-going sock pattern that combines comfort and creativity! Featuring a classic stocking stitch foot, this design incorporates a selection of textured stitches inspired by my “Sisters” collection, which you can effortlessly mix and match to create a unique pair.
This versatile sock pattern is perfect for using solid or tonal yarn, although you can also get creative by utilizing minis or scraps for each band of textured stitches. Whether you prefer a cohesive look or a fun patchwork style, this design accommodates your vision.
The pattern provides detailed instructions for both toe-up and cuff-down knitting methods, making it suitable for knitters of all preferences. It features a contemporary wedge toe design and a Wrap and Turn short row heel, but feel free to customize these elements according to your preferences. Knitters can use the magic loop method, but the instructions can easily be adapted for those who prefer using double-pointed needles (dpns).
For this project, you will need 2.25mm (US 1) circular needles for magic loop or dpns—whichever suits your technique best. Ensure you achieve the desired gauge of 36 sts x 48 rows per 4 inches when using the 2.25mm needles in stocking stitch to ensure a perfect fit.
The yarn requirements include 100g (approximately 459 yds/420 m) of your chosen 4ply sock yarn, plus an optional 10g (approximately 45 yds/42m) for contrast colors. For the sample used in the Medium size (as shown in the photo above), we recommend the Main Colour: West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Nutmeg (630), complemented by the Contrast Colour for the toe: Drops Fabel in Blue (107).
Start your next knitting project with this delightful sock pattern that is perfect for relaxing evenings or gifting to loved ones. Get ready to enjoy the process and embrace the joy of knitting unique socks!
