To ensure durability and prevent curling, we incorporate an i-cord bind-off at both the hem and armholes. Additionally, the hem cables are skillfully attached to the i-cord bind-off by knitting, providing a polished look and enhanced stability.

I chose the enchanting purple yarn from Pipa Yarns, a color that captured my heart the moment I laid eyes on it! Inspired by a vivid vision of my grandma dancing joyfully in this delightful dress during her youth, I imagined her twirling in the rain amidst a vibrant field of meadow buttercups and bluebells—the quintessential flowers of my childhood. The lovely lilac shade evokes memories of the evil witch mermaid Ursula from The Little Mermaid children's book, while the cables elegantly mimic tentacles. Yet, despite the whimsical connection, I refrained from naming this cherished pattern after her; the thought of invoking the spirit of such a devious character felt incomplete, lacking a sense of camaraderie.
