Sloane Detroit Shawl

The Sloane Detroit Shawl originated as a delightful afterthought, inspired by my current obsession with cowls. While cowls hold a special place in my heart, small shawls have always been my ultimate passion. By shifting the centerline of the shawl slightly, I was able to create a fascinating dynamic, ultimately returning to the original center. This design choice differentiates the shawl, which plays with asymmetry, from the cowl, which embraces reflection symmetry. I’ll refrain from delving too deeply into geometry territory, but I do want to emphasize that if you’ve previously knit the cowl, you shouldn’t hesitate to tackle the shawl, and vice versa.
