Snow and Icicles
SHAPE: Introducing the exquisite acrescent shawl, a beautiful project designed to be worked from the bottom up, perfect for your next knitting adventure.
PATTERN STYLE: This pattern features a combination of written instructions and chart diagrams, catering to different learning preferences. To enhance your knitting experience, a comprehensive key and full abbreviation list are included for easy reference.
DIFFICULTY: Ideal for advanced beginners, this pattern serves as a fantastic introduction to lace knitting techniques. The design is crafted to be easily memorable, allowing you to knit with confidence.
YARN: For the most striking results, we recommend using solid or tonal colorways that truly showcase the intricate lacework. A lightly variegated colorway can also work well, adding subtle depth to your finished shawl.
BEADS: (Optional) If you choose to incorporate beads, you will need Size 6/0 beads, totaling 460. You can use either the beading wire method or the crochet hook method, as beads were not prestrung. To accentuate the lace features, a double yarn over (YO) should be performed. Bead placement is entirely optional; one of our test knitters creatively placed the beads on the icicle yarn overs on the wrong side (WS) of the work.
If you consider yourself a loose knitter, we recommend accounting for yardage on the higher end of the suggested requirements to ensure you have enough yarn for your beautiful shawl.
