Sobrante
Introducing the Sobrante shawl pattern, a delightful project that was inspired by the remnants of leftover sock yarn. This unique knitting pattern allows you to transform one-ounce increments of seven different colorways into a stunning accessory, ensuring that none of your yarn goes to waste! The Sobrante shawl features a simple knit design with an easily memorized cable pattern along the edge, making it perfect for both beginners and advanced knitters alike. Plus, its customizable size means that you can use any fingering weight yarn available, and simply stop knitting when you’ve run out of your delightful leftovers!
**Finished Size:** 20” depth, 80” wingspan, as written. The pattern is easily adjustable to suit your personal preferences.
**Yarn:** You can use any fingering weight yarn for the Sobrante shawl. The sample shawl is made using 7 different one-ounce amounts of Tempting Ewe Ewe So Sparkly and Neighborhood Fiber Company Studio Sock, but feel free to get creative with your color choices and yarn brands!
**Needles:** To create your beautiful shawl, you will need a 32” circular needle in size 4 US (3.500mm) or any size that will help you achieve the desired gauge.
**Gauge:** The recommended gauge is 20 stitches and 26 rows per 4 inches in blocked garter stitch. While gauge is not critical for this project, it can influence the overall size, yardage used, and drape of your finished shawl, so keep that in mind while you knit.
**Note:** The pattern includes detailed instructions for how I knit the Sobrante shawl. If you happen to have more yarn or less, no problem! Utilize what you have, or simply stop knitting when you reach your desired width. Get ready to unleash your creativity and make a stunning piece that truly showcases your unique style and the beauty of your yarn! Embark on your knitting journey with the Sobrante shawl and enjoy the process of creating something truly special.
