Speckle Tonic
Introducing the Speckle Tonic Shawl, a stunning crescent-shaped shawl pattern designed for both beginner and experienced knitters. This beautiful shawl features easy lace techniques, making it the perfect project to showcase that special skein of speckled yarn sitting in your stash. To enhance the intricate designs of the lace sections, I've paired the speckle yarn with a matching semi-solid color, resulting in a harmonious and eye-catching accessory. The Speckle Tonic Shawl pattern is also incredibly versatile, as it can be easily adjusted to create a smaller or larger shawl to suit your personal preferences. Detailed instructions for making size modifications are included within the pattern.
Yarn Recommendations: For this project, you will need the following yarn colors:
- Colour 1: Circus Tonic White Browed Woodswallow (pale speckle) - 267 m (292 yards)
- Colour 2: Circus Tonic Spangled Drongo (blue-grey) - 374 m (409 yards)
Important Note on Yardage: Please keep in mind that many of my testers have reported using approximately 12% more of Colour 2 (the semi-solid blue-grey yarn) than I utilized. While I crafted the shawl using around 374 meters, testers required about 420 meters. If you have concerns about yarn availability or do not have an extra skein of Colour 2 on hand, don’t worry! Simply follow the instructions near the beginning of page 3 for adjustments to create a slightly smaller shawl, which includes having fewer initial stocking stitch rows. This way, you can confidently begin your project while ensuring you have enough yarn to complete your beautiful Speckle Tonic Shawl.
Whether you’re looking to craft a gift for a loved one or simply want to treat yourself to a cozy new shawl, the Speckle Tonic Shawl pattern is the perfect addition to your knitting repertoire. Download your pattern today and start your journey into the world of knitted lace!
