SPECULUM
SPECULUM, derived from the Latin word for "reflection," aptly describes this unique shawl that reflects elegant style across all axes. This stunning accessory features a large design with eight versatile corners, allowing it to be worn in countless creative ways, making it a must-have addition to any knitting enthusiast's wardrobe.
For my original design, I utilized one full skein of Wollmeise lace yarn paired with approximately 40 grams of a contrasting color to add a touch of personality and flair. While Wollmeise lace provides beautiful results, feel free to experiment with other yarns; however, keep in mind that the size of the shawl may vary accordingly. To cater to those who prefer precise stitch counts, the body's construction involves a straightforward method of increases after the central section is completed. The intricate center and charming ruffle sections are designed using detailed charts, while the remaining parts of the pattern require just a kitchen scale for accurate measurements.
Upon completion, the SPECULUM shawl measures an impressive 218 x 116 cm from point to point, making it perfect for wrapping around or draping over your shoulders. Whether you are a seasoned knitter or just starting your yarn journey, this pattern combines both simplicity and sophistication, offering a delightful challenge that results in a beautiful piece of wearable art.
