Stag beanie
If you're a fan of knitting and wildlife, you’ll love my latest design inspired by a delightful encounter with some deer. I spotted these graceful creatures running alongside our bus, so close yet so enchanting! This inspiration led me to create a charming stag beanie, perfect for cooler weather.
Interestingly, my name translates to "hunter" in English, adding a personal touch to this design. Plus, there's a memorable episode of Gilmore Girls featuring stags that further fueled my creativity!
This beanie is designed with versatility in mind. Want to give it a festive flair? Simply swap the light brown yarn for a beautiful silver color, and you'll have a lovely Christmas-themed accessory perfect for the holiday season!
The design showcases my signature dotted corrugated pattern with two-color ribbing, consisting of three alternating bands of stags, topped off with a charming little border pattern. Every stitch is crafted with care to create a unique and cozy beanie you’ll love to wear.
One notable feature of this beanie is its larger size compared to my usual designs, thanks to the inclusion of extra stitches. If you're knitting for larger head sizes, consider going up one or two needle sizes or using a thicker 5-ply yarn, like Buttinette Madeleine Merino or a similar option, for added warmth.
The beanie featured in the photograph is knitted using a variety of 4-ply sock yarn from different manufacturers. While I’ve included brand names for reference, you can easily substitute them with any 4-ply sock yarn you currently have in your stash. You’ll need approximately 30 grams of each of the three colors to complete this stag beanie.
With a maximum of two contrasting colors used, this adorable beanie is not only stylish but also a fun project to take on. Get your needles ready and start knitting your very own stag beanie today!
