Staghorn Cable Knit Gloves

$5.00

This knitting pattern features beautiful and intricate cables that elevate your project. If you're new to working with cables, you may want to seek additional guidance via YouTube to successfully complete this pattern. However, I consider this to be a relatively easy cable pattern, which is simple enough to memorize. Once you've worked through just one pattern repeat, you'll find that it allows for quick and enjoyable knitting.

The pattern is available in two formats: one for knitting in the round and another for knitting straight/flat. While this is categorized as an advanced beginner pattern, it’s essential that you already know how to knit in the round and how to cast on using circular needles. If you opt for the straight needle version, which involves knitting flat, you’ll find it a bit easier since you won’t have to worry about creating a thumb hole. Keep in mind that you will need to sew the gloves up the side to finish them properly.

For this project, I recommend using flexible double-pointed needles, but you may also choose traditional straight double-pointed needles. For size adjustments, use 4.5mm needles for size small and 5.5mm needles for size large. Be sure to choose a Category 4 worsted weight yarn—only one skein (approximately 115 yards) is needed. I personally used Red Heart Roll With It and Cascade Pacific yarns for this project.

You'll also need some additional tools: stitch markers, a cable needle, and a needle for weaving in ends. This comprehensive pattern is written in English and utilizes American knitting terms, making it accessible for many knitters. Whether you're knitting a cozy accessory for yourself or a thoughtful gift for a loved one, this cable knit pattern will surely impress. Happy knitting!
