Stegosaurus
As a former geologist, I have an incredible appreciation for all things dinosaur! The stegosaurus, with its distinctive ridge of plates and spikes along its spine, is one of the most recognizable and iconic dinosaurs in history. These plates may have served as a visually stunning feature to attract a mate and signal health. However, since no actual dinosaur skin has been preserved over millennia, paleontologists are left guessing about the colors of these magnificent creatures. This opens the door for creativity, allowing you to choose the color that brings your dinosaur to life!
This fun and engaging 20 cm stegosaurus knitting project is a great way to unleash your creativity while honing your knitting skills. It's fast, fun, and easy to make, featuring techniques such as knitting flat and in the round, as well as working with i-cords and intarsia. This delightful design was crafted with care using 2.00 mm double-pointed needles (UK 12, US 0) and an array of vibrant yarns. Specifically, I used Scheepjes Stonewashed in colors (827) peridot, Scheepjes Riverwashed in (951) Amazon and (946) Mississippi, and Lopi Einband (851) white. To add a unique twist, I've incorporated a strand of Gütermann Sulky Glowy 40 (07) neon green glow-in-the-dark yarn, making your creation truly special and perfect for display in dim lighting!
So, embark on your own prehistoric journey and start your very own Jurassic world by knitting this adorable, dino-myte stegosaurus back into existence!
