Materials Needed:

To complete the Stepping Stones pattern, you will need approximately 1673 yards (1530 m) of worsted weight yarn, totaling about 25.5 ounces (722g). For the sample, we used Lion Brand Yarn's Wool Ease in a beautiful Gold shade (620-171), requiring 9 hanks, each containing 197 yards (180 m) and weighing 3 ounces (85 g).

Recommended Needle:

For this project, a US size 8 (5 mm) circular needle with a minimum length of 32 inches (60 cm) is recommended to accommodate the generous dimensions of the finished garment.

Essential Notions:

While optional, having 4 stitch markers on hand can help you keep track of your progress. A tapestry needle will also be necessary for weaving in those pesky ends once your project is complete.

Gauge:

Before you start, make sure to check your gauge! The ideal gauge for this pattern is 16 stitches x 24 rows, which will measure 4 inches (10 cm) square in Stockinette St. Achieving the correct gauge is important to ensure your finished product matches the intended size.
