Sun Fire
Transform your leftover yarn and mini skeins into a stunning warm weather accessory with our Sun Fire Beret knitting pattern! This beautiful beret is inspired by the sun and creatively upcycles surplus Green Sheep Cotton and Bamboo fingering yarn from our popular Solar Flare Circular Shawl. Featuring eye-catching flare lace and flame twisted stitches, the Sun Fire Beret is a must-have fashion statement for the season. Optional beads can be added to give it those delightful kisses of sunlight, elevating your knitted piece to the next level!
This tech-edited pattern is perfect for intermediate knitters and comes fully written and charted for your convenience. To aid your knitting journey, we invite you to explore our stitch demonstrations on the Solar Flare Circular Shawl available on our YouTube channel. These demos showcase the unique stitches used in creating your Sun Fire Beret, ensuring you have everything you need to succeed!
Note: Due to the extreme drape of the yarn used, the headband features 3”/7.5cm of negative ease. If you choose to substitute a different fiber, be sure to select your headband size based on the desired negative ease to maintain the beautiful drape characteristic of the original design.
Blocked Gauge: Achieve a gauge of 24 stitches and 34 rows over 4”/10cm in Stockinette stitch for the perfect fit. The sample beret is crafted from 286 yards (65 grams) of scrap yarn, specifically fingering weight organic cotton and bamboo yarn sourced from The Unique Sheep.
Whether you're an experienced knitter or looking for a new project to energize your crafting, the Sun Fire Beret offers a fantastic opportunity to explore creative techniques while enjoying the vibrant essence of sunny days!
