Tabitha the Destash Kitty

Free

Introducing Tabitha, the dependable and resourceful little kitty that's perfect for all your leftover yarn! Unlike some cats, Tabitha is designed to help you creatively use up those odds and ends from your stash that you just can’t bear to throw away. She’s the ideal project for knitters who want to make the most of every last bit of yarn after completing larger projects like sweaters or socks.

To create your own Tabitha, you'll need around 50 meters of DK or small weight yarn, but don’t worry if you have chunkier wool; just grab a bit more! For more precise yardage details, please refer to the pattern itself, as it provides you with all the information you need.

What’s great about Tabitha is her versatility. Like all my beloved toys, she can be crafted in any wool weight. Simply select needles that are a few sizes smaller than what the yarn label recommends for the best results. For instance, I knitted my delightful green kitty using Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend on 3.25mm needles and the charming purple and orange kitty using Sokkusu-O on 2.25mm needles.

This fun and cozy knitting project not only lets you practice your skills, but it also creates a cuddly companion that can be a wonderful gift or cherished keepsake. So gather your scraps and get started on knitting your very own Tabitha today!
