Taeda

$6.00

Introducing Taeda, a beautifully lacy shawlette designed to bring a touch of elegance to your wardrobe. This stunning accessory is worked from side to side, making it an engaging project that not only showcases your knitting skills but also utilizes most of your yarn skein. To create your own Taeda shawlette, we recommend weighing your yarn at the start of your project. You'll begin by increasing stitches until you've used up approximately half of the yarn—usually around 47.5 grams if you’re using a 95-gram skein—before transitioning into the decrease portion, which gives this shawl its lovely lacy form.

This versatile design was crafted with sport weight yarn in mind, but the beauty of Taeda is that it can be knit using any yarn and at any gauge! Whether you prefer a lighter lace weight for a delicate feel or a chunky yarn for a cozy addition, Taeda is an adaptable project that welcomes creativity. The name Taeda is inspired by the scientific name of the Loblolly pine, a striking tree that I had the pleasure of standing beside as I designed this pattern, and which also inspired the lovely colorway of the yarn.

Key Notes:

This shawl is knit from one end to the other. It's as simple as weighing your yarn at the beginning of the project. Continue knitting the increase portion of the shawl until you reach the halfway point, utilizing half (or a little less) of your total yarn weight. After that, you can confidently begin the decrease portion to finish your project beautifully. For the best results, we recommend using a scale that measures in grams. Just remember: the secret to making a perfectly proportioned Taeda shawlette lies in weighing your yarn and enjoying the process!

Get ready to create a stunning and customizable accessory with the Taeda shawlette pattern! Perfect for knitters of all skill levels, this enchanting project will make a wonderful addition to your collection or a heartfelt gift for a loved one.
