Taming of the Fox
When I first encountered the captivating colour known as Between Good and Evil, the image of a playful fox immediately came to mind. It was clear that this exquisite yarn was calling out for a design that beautifully incorporated the essence of a fox. After exploring various stitch patterns, I discovered one that evoked the delicate imagery of sheaves of wheat, which led me to reflect on the poignant passage from the beloved tale 'Le Petit Prince.'
This knitting pattern serves as a heartfelt tribute to the bond of friendship and the unwavering faith that a fox placed in a curious little boy. In my design, the fox forever watches over his golden wheat fields, listening to the gentle whispers of the wind. This enchanting motif captures the spirit of loyalty and connection that resonates through the story.
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions, making it accessible for knitters of all skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or just starting your knitting journey, you will find joy in creating this piece.
For this project, you will need 400 yards (366 meters) of fingering weight wool yarn, which knits up to 8.5 stitches per inch. The design is shown in The Sanguine Gryphon ‘Eidos’, which boasts 420 yards (384 meters) of 100% merino wool, weighing 3.99 oz (113 grams) per skein. I used one skein in the stunning shade of Beyond Good and Evil to complete this size Medium design.
