This pattern is a fantastic way to utilize a single skein of 100 grams of DK weight yarn! The design features elongated stitches that elegantly crisscross in this straightforward yet appealing knit pattern. Enhance the finished piece by using buttons to connect the beginning and end, transforming it into a stylish cowl that you can wear with pride!

Pattern Details

Measurements: The finished cowl measures approximately 6 ½” in width and 45” in length after blocking, making it a versatile accessory for any wardrobe.

Materials Required

To complete this project, you will need:

• 225 yards of DK weight yarn. For this pattern, we specifically used Cape May Fiber DK Merino (231 yards / 206 m per 100 grams / 3.5 oz, 100% Superwash Merino Wool) in the beautiful Color Queen Victoria, which showcases light pink with swirls of green, accented with speckles of orange, fuchsia, and navy.
• US Size 7 (4.5 mm) straight knitting needles
• 4 buttons (optional) ranging from ¾” to 1 ½” in diameter
• Sewing needle, matching thread, and scissors for button attachment

Gauge Information

Gauge: To achieve the desired look and fit, aim for a gauge of 20 stitches and 40 rows = 4” in garter stitch after blocking. This gauge will help ensure your cowl is the perfect size.
