Terran
Join the excitement of the Terran MKAL (Mystery Knit Along) starting on October 7th! Engage with fellow fiber enthusiasts in our Knit Eco Chic Slack community as we work together to create a stunning piece inspired by the rich red clay of North Carolina and the effervescent natural mountain springs. The Terran shawl is a beautifully designed bottom-up triangular shawl featuring wide wings and captivating mirrored brioche patterns that will make a striking addition to your wardrobe.
As you knit Terran, you'll climb through a stunning array of textured brioche stitches, making the journey as delightful as the destination. This intermediate-level project features brioche Stockinette as the backdrop, enhancing the textured design while ensuring your knitting experience remains engaging and enjoyable. You will master essential techniques such as casting on, brioche Stockinette, intricate cable work, various brioche pattern stitches (including increases and decreases), and short rows. Additionally, we will provide helpful videos with each clue to guide you through the pattern, making it accessible for knitters ready to level up their skills.
Don’t miss out on special Zoom knitting sessions hosted by myself and Puddles, where we will be available for support and camaraderie as you tackle this fun project together with your fellow crafters! Perfect your skills while sharing tips and experiences with other knitters in a friendly, collaborative atmosphere.
Gauge for the Terran MKAL is 20 stitches and 26 rows over 4" / 10 cm in brioche stitch. While an exact gauge is not critical for achieving the beautiful finished shawl, it's still advisable to check your tension to ensure the best possible drape and fit. Embrace the joy of knitting with the Terran shawl, and let your creativity flow as you evoke wonder and appreciation for this dynamic piece!
