The Kate Headband: A Stylish and Cozy Accessory

Are you looking to achieve the stylish look of a twist headband without the awkward seam? If so, the Kate Headband is the perfect solution for you! This super bulky headband and earwarmer pattern features a unique cable design and is constructed with just one seam—located at the back of the headband where it is virtually unnoticed. It’s a quick and enjoyable project, making it ideal for using up your yarn scraps.

You'll need approximately 25 yards of super bulky yarn to create this fashionable accessory. I personally used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Stripes in the beautiful colorway of Hudson Bay, but feel free to experiment with your favorite super bulky yarn! Additionally, you will need 9mm (US 13) straight knitting needles to complete this headband.

Working the cable stitch is an interesting yet fairly simple maneuver that involves all of the stitches. The pattern is rated as advanced beginner, which means you can tackle it even if you are relatively new to knitting! To ensure you have all the guidance you need, I have included an in-depth explanation of the cable stitch in the Glossary of Abbreviations section. This glossary not only provides detailed descriptions of all stitches and abbreviations used in this pattern but also includes helpful links to tutorials, making this pattern incredibly beginner-friendly.

Happy knitting and enjoy creating your very own Kate Headband!
