Yarn: You will need 1 skein each of 5 colors from Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift, which is 100% Pure Shetland Wool. Each skein provides 105 m (115 yards) per 25 grams. Needles: For this project, you will need a 3.5 mm (US #4) circular needle (at least 40 cm/16 inches long) as well as double-pointed needles (dpns), or an appropriate size to achieve the desired gauge. Additionally, a 3.0 mm (US #2.5) circular needle (at least 40 cm/16 inches long) or dpns, which is two sizes smaller than your gauge needles, will also be required.

Other Essentials: Don’t forget to have on hand 1 stitch marker and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, ensuring your finished hat looks polished and professional.

Gauge: The gauge for this pattern is 28 stitches and 24 rounds in 10 cm (4 inches) in pattern worked in the round using the 3.5 mm (US #4) needle. Remember, taking the time to check your gauge will save you time in the long run! If necessary, adjust your needle size to match the correct gauge for a well-fitting hat.
