To create the Train & Tracks Hat, you'll need a few materials: Size 6 and 8 16” circular or double-point needles (or size to match gauge) and worsted weight yarn in four to five colors. For this pattern, I used Reynolds Paterna Wool (50 gms = 109 yds), using a total of 50 gms for the project: Main Color (MC) = Gray (32 gms), Rails = Light Gray (2 gms), Train = Red (9 gms), Wheels, Coal & Railroad Ties = Black (7 gms), plus about 2.5 yds of White for optional steam or smoke detailing. Note that I used duplicate stitch to enhance the “coal” and the “steam/smoke” effects.
