Trains in The Night
As the rhythmic sound of a train whistles softly in the distance, you find yourself lost in moments of daily life—whether caught in traffic, standing in line for that perfect cup of coffee, or cozied up in your favorite armchair with a captivating book. For me, this melodic whistle is almost a nightly occurrence. I hear it as I turn down my bed covers or right as I’m drifting off to sleep. It’s a soothing and comforting sound, evoking images of travelers embarking on their next great adventure. If I could bottle this sound and take it with me wherever I go, I surely would.
Instead, I've channeled that inspiration into creating "Trains in the Night," a pair of beautifully designed mitts. The simple cobblestone texture reflects the ballast bed of train tracks, while the track-like scales that grace either side perfectly mimic the look of real train tracks. Together, these elements create a unique knitting project that pays homage to the adventure and nostalgia that trains represent.
Wearing these mitts is my way of carrying that comforting sound with me. The moment I slip them onto my hands, I feel prepared for my own great adventure, ready to embark on new journeys and experiences. Whether you're a seasoned knitter or a beginner looking for a new project that captures your imagination, "Trains in the Night" will inspire you and keep your hands warm during those crisp evenings.
