As part of the 2020 “My Life in Yarn” campaign, the Traveling Afghans project is set to begin its incredible journey in January. Each afghan will travel from New York City to a new designer every two weeks, creating an international tapestry of creativity. Every participating designer will craft a beautiful 10”x10” square to contribute to this collaborative blanket before sending it on to the next maker in line. What's even better? Each designer will publish their pattern for free online, allowing YOU to knit or crochet your very own Traveling Afghan right alongside us!
This year-long creative endeavor is not only about creating stunning textiles but also about sharing personal stories from the designers, highlighting their unique paths as makers. In addition to discovering new stitches and techniques, you’ll have the chance to connect with fellow crafters in the community and form friendships over a shared passion for knitting and crocheting.
