Finished Size: This versatile pattern yields a one-size-fits-most finished product with a height of 20cm/8” (when the brim is folded over) and a circumference of 57cm/22”. Designed to fit the average adult size head comfortably, it's an ideal accessory for winter weather.

Yarn Information: For this pattern, we recommend using Jamieson & Smith 2ply Jumper Weight yarn, which boasts a yardage of 115m/125 yards per 25g ball. You will need the following yarn colors: Yarn A: FC58 (3 balls — If you choose not to use a folded brim or pom pom, only 2 balls are sufficient). Additional colors include Yarn B: FC38, Yarn C: FC52, Yarn D: FC21, and Yarn E: 1280 (1 ball each). This delightful selection of shades creates a stunning Fair Isle effect that truly stands out.

Gauge: To achieve the perfect fit, your gauge should measure approximately 30 stitches and 32 rows over 10 cm when using 3.25mm needles. For the best results, I worked the Fair Isle sections on 3.25mm needles while opting for 3.00mm needles for my plain knitting sections.

Needles and Accessories Required: To knit this hat, you will need a 2.5mm x 40cm circular needle or double-pointed needles (DPNs) for working the ribbing. For the main body of the hat, use 3.25mm x 40cm circular needles or DPNs. Additionally, you will need 3.0mm DPNs for shaping the hat crown and a tapestry needle for weaving in the ends to achieve a polished finish.
