Twas the Night Before Christmas Socks
In 2014, I launched the video podcast, Little Bobbins Knits, where I share my latest knitting projects and connect with fellow knitters from around the globe. One of my cherished traditions that I introduced to my audience is the annual casting on of a special pair of socks each Christmas Eve. These festive socks are not just a project; they encapsulate the warm memories and joy of the holiday season. I was overjoyed to discover that viewers of my podcast were inspired by this tradition and began to adopt it for themselves, creating their own cherished Christmas Eve sock casting on experiences.
The community that has formed around this tradition has been nothing short of magical. I love seeing everyone share snippets of their unique celebrations and the newly cast on Christmas Eve socks. Each year, when I cast on my socks, I am filled with joy thinking about all the other passionate knitters around the world who are also beginning their own special Christmas Eve sock journeys at the same time. As we approach our 4th annual Christmas Eve cast on, I can hardly contain my excitement for the lovely festive pictures that our community will share. I eagerly anticipate seeing the stunning socks that will emerge, as every stitch is filled with joyful memories of the holiday season. Let’s come together this Christmas Eve and celebrate our love for knitting while creating beautiful, heartfelt treasures that we can cherish for years to come!
