Are you tired of the dreary winter blues and ready to embrace the bright, cheerful vibes of spring? This adorable knitted hat pattern is the perfect way to keep your little one's head warm during those brisk early spring breezes. Featuring a cozy single rib brim, a charming robin intarsia motif, and a playful pom-pom on top, this hat will not only provide warmth but also add a splash of fun to your child's wardrobe.

This spring-themed hat is knit flat, making it easy to showcase the lovely intarsia design. With a variety of sizes available, you can create this delightful hat for babies and toddlers aged 0-6 months all the way up to ages 6-10 years. The finished measurements include:

0-6 months (6-12 months, 12-18 months, 2-3 years, 4-6 years, 6-10 years) measuring approximately 16 (17, 18¼, 19, 20, 21)" [40.5 (43, 46.5, 48, 51, 53.5) cm] in circumference. The sample featured in the pictures is sized to fit a 20" [50.75 cm] head circumference.

Gauge: To ensure the perfect fit, aim for 18 stitches and 27 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stockinette stitch on the larger needles.

For this project, you'll need Lark yarn by Quince & Co., made of 100% wool, which comes in 134 yards [123m] per 50g skein. For all sizes, you'll require one skein each of colors Petal (A) and Pomegranate (B), along with a small amount of Twig (C). Alternatively, if you prefer to use a different worsted weight yarn, you'll need approximately 65 (70, 80, 90, 105, 120) yards of main color (MC) yarn and about 20 yards for the contrasting color (CC).

Gather your supplies and use 16” circular needles or two straight needles in size US 6 [4 mm] to get started on this engaging and delightful spring hat project. Not only will your child stay warm, but they'll also look absolutely adorable in this beautiful handmade accessory. Happy knitting!
