Twillish Socks
This beautifully intricate pattern for stranded socks, featuring gussets and a traditional heel flap, draws inspiration from the twill scarves I meticulously wove on my table loom. Not only do these socks showcase an eye-catching design, but they also coordinate perfectly with my Twillish Beanie & Twillish Fingerless Gloves patterns, making them a wonderful addition to your knitted accessory collection. Thanks to my dedicated test knitters, who rated this pattern as intermediate, you can expect a rewarding knitting experience!
SIZES: Available in Adult S (M, L), designed to fit a foot circumference of 7.5 (8.75, 9.5) inches (19 (22.25, 24.5) cm), featuring 0.75”/2 cm of negative ease for a snug fit. This ensures your socks stay comfortably in place while providing warmth and style.
**MATERIALS:** To create these stunning stranded socks, you'll need high-quality fingering weight yarn. The sample shown above uses the main color (MC): Hazel Knits Piquant Lite, composed of 90% Merino wool and 10% nylon/polyamide (110g/3.88oz), totaling 400 yards/366 meters in the lovely Color Primrose: 1 skein. For the contrasting color (CC), I recommend Direful Yarns sock yarn, which is made of 80% Merino wool and 20% nylon/polyamide (100g/3.53oz), also providing 400 yards/366 meters in the striking colorway Never Trust the Living: 1 skein. You will need U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm) needles, specifically 2 circulars (or size needed to obtain the correct gauge), along with a darning needle for finishing touches.
