Twining Vines Stole

Description: The stunning Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve in Newfoundland inspires much of the unique vegetation that thrives there, primarily characterized by low-growing plants just a few inches high. One such plant caught my eye with its pointed “branches,” reminiscent of a beautiful stitch pattern I had encountered in the past. After an extensive search through numerous stitch dictionaries, I finally discovered the ideal stitch pattern for the main body of this exquisite shawl. To complement the eyelets from the main design, I created a border that offers a softer, more organic feel. The cable twist incorporated into the edging design adds an elegant touch, mimicking the natural forms found in this ecological reserve and lending itself perfectly to the overall aesthetic of the shawl.
