Twisted journey
Inspiration: This unique sock pattern, titled “The Journey,” is the first of my original designs inspired by a scenic train ride. As I traveled for four enchanting hours from Cheltenham in the picturesque Cotswolds to Skipton in Yorkshire, the beautiful landscape sparked creativity. The intricate cable patterns in the design symbolize the twists and turns of the train tracks, making each sock not just a garment, but a representation of my adventure. Construction: The socks are crafted using a toe-up construction method, making them both comfortable and customizable. They feature a classic gusset and a stylish slip stitch heel, allowing for a snug fit that ends mid-calf. This design not only provides warmth but also showcases the intricate cable work and adds a touch of elegance to your sock collection.
Materials: For this delightful pattern, I recommend using Eden Cottage Tempo 4 ply yarn, which is composed of 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon, providing both softness and durability. Each skein contains 384 meters (420 yards) per 100 grams. The shade used in this sample is vibrant Dandelion, transporting you to sunny fields. Additionally, the samples were knit using a stunning Indie dyer, WGLY 4 ply yarn, also made of 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon, available in hues of Blush and Granite. Each skein offers a generous length of 400m (437 yards) per 100 grams, making it perfect for crafting cozy socks.
Sizes: This versatile sock pattern is available in three sizes to ensure a perfect fit for everyone: Small (UK 3-5 / EU 36-38), Medium (UK 6-8 / EU 39-42), and Large (UK 9-11 / EU 43-46). Each size is thoughtfully designed to accommodate foot circumferences of Small (7” / 18cm), Medium (8” / 20.5cm), and Large (9” / 23cm).
