Falling in love with knitting often leads to an irresistible passion for collecting beautiful yarns. It's a delightful journey that unfolds unexpectedly—over time, we find ourselves irresistibly drawn to those gorgeous skeins that simply can't be left behind. This enchanting pattern, called Twofold, was inspired by two exceptional skeins I simply had to acquire during the annual Rose City Yarn Crawl. My vision was to use them together in a squishy, cozy brioche pattern that would allow each color to truly shine and make an impact. Twofold offers a playful yet straightforward way to experiment with color placement within a lovely brioche stitch, making it both a beautiful and engaging project.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Finished Size: This stunning Twofold design measures 25”/63.5 cm in circumference, stands at 7.5”/19 cm tall in the back, and reaches a depth of 19.25”/48 cm to its front point.

Gauge: To achieve the best results, aim for a gauge of 18 stitches x 24 rows = 4”/10 cm square in brioche rib.

Yarn: For this pattern, you'll need fingering weight yarn in two contrasting colors: Color A requires 228 yards/209 meters and Color B requires 215 yards/196 meters. Select yarns that inspire you and complement each other beautifully.

Needle: Use a US3/3.25 mm circular needle, preferably 24”/60 cm in length, or whichever size is necessary for obtaining the correct gauge. Choosing the right needle is essential for achieving that perfect brioche stitch.

Notions: As you embark on this knitting adventure, don’t forget a few essentials! You’ll need three stitch markers, and while optional, a removable stitch marker can be quite helpful. A tapestry needle is also a must for weaving in ends once your project is complete.
