Materials: You will need 250 (290, 330) yards (229 (265, 302) meters) of fingering/sock weight yarn. For this project, we used the stunning Yarnbox April Showers yarn (520 yds/115g skein), which is a luxurious blend of 65% Merino Wool and 35% Bamboo. You will also require US Size 1 (2.25mm) double pointed knitting needles (set of 4) and 3 stitch markers to complete this lovely pattern.
Gauge: Achieve the perfect fit with a gauge of 32 stitches and 44 rounds = 4 inches in stockinette stitch (st st) in the round, and be sure to check the Umbrella Lace Chart using US Size 1 (2.25mm) knitting needles after blocking. To successfully knit the Umbrella Lace, aim for 17 stitches = 2 ½ inches in the lace pattern when worked in the round on the same needle size after blocking.
