To ensure your beautiful mittens turn out just right, the gauge is set at 4 inches by 4 inches (10cm by 10cm) with approximately 27 stitches and 33 rows after blocking when knitted in stockinette stitch using 4mm needles.
Once completed and blocked, your mittens will measure approximately:
- Size S: 9 inches tall with a folded cuff and 3.75 inches wide at the fingers (5.25 inches wide at the thumb separation)
- Size M: 9 inches tall with a folded cuff and 4 inches wide at the fingers (5.5 inches wide at the thumb separation)
- Size L: 10 inches tall with a folded cuff and 4.25 inches wide at the fingers (5.75 inches wide at the thumb separation)
- Size XL: 10 inches tall with a folded cuff and 4.5 inches wide at the fingers (6 inches wide at the thumb separation)
