For those windy days, simply tie the cords underneath your chin to keep the hat securely in place!
The construction of the Vespa hat is straightforward yet rewarding. You'll begin by knitting the earflaps flat, which are then seamlessly joined at the back of the neck. Once you cast on the front stitches, the remainder of the hat is knitted in the round for a perfectly fitted finish. Additionally, I-cords with optional decorative pods can be crafted separately and attached to the bottom of the earflaps for an extra touch of style.
For your Vespa hat, you will need worsted weight yarn, approximately 200 yards (183 meters). Our sample was knitted using Spirit Trail Fiberworks Minerva, a blend of 50% merino wool and 50% silk, which adds a luxurious softness and warmth to this cozy winter accessory.
