Vittorio Fingerless Mitts

$6.12

Join in on the holiday knitting excitement with the Vittorio Fingerless Mitts, an enchanting companion piece to my popular 2020 Missoni-inspired design, the Vittorio Cowl. This delightful project is perfect for the festive season, designed specifically as a half-advent or 12-day project. It utilizes 12 mini skeins (2 each of 6 vibrant colours) along with an additional 50-gram skein of fingering weight yarn, making it a fantastic addition to your holiday crafting list.

The Vittorio Fingerless Mitts celebrate the artistry of Vittorio Missoni and are tailored for the Shall We Knit? yarn store advent calendar, embodying the spirit of a half-vent or 12 Days of Christmas project. These stylish fingerless mitts are versatile and come in two sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for everyone on your gift list.

Important Note: These fingerless mitts were thoughtfully designed using Koigu ‘Minis,’ which are typically labeled at 11 yards (10 m) each. While these adorable skeinettes are generally longer than the listed amount, it's essential to note that for this particular project, the cuffs are crafted using the specified quantity of yarn. If you choose to use the Koigu ‘Minis,’ you will likely have some yarn left over from most colours, making this a cost-effective project!

Yarn Requirements: To make these stunning fingerless mitts, you will need a total of 183 (207) yards/167 (189) metres of merino wool fingering weight yarn, which knits up to a gauge of 7-7.5 stitches per inch. The mitts feature a Main Colour that requires 75 (87) yards/69 (80) metres, complemented by Contrasting Colours which consist of 6 different colours, each requiring 18 (20) yards/16 (18) metres.

This knitting pattern is perfect for utilizing your stash or exploring new colour combinations, making it an enjoyable and fulfilling project. Dive into your holiday knitting with the Vittorio Fingerless Mitts, and experience the joy of creating beautiful handmade gifts this season!
