Wallace Island Hat
Discover the cozy charm of Wallace Island Marine Park through your knitting with this delightful hat pattern, one of my favorite anchorages in the beautiful Gulf Islands of British Columbia. As you explore the island, be prepared for those chilly ocean winds by wearing this comfy hat. Crafted with worsted weight wool, the design features a unique combination of a fancy rib stitch and the brioche stockinette stitch. The intriguing textures not only keep your knitting experience engaging but are also simple enough to work on while socializing with friends!
Materials Required:
- 150 meters / 165 yards of worsted weight yarn. For this sample, I used Patons Classic Wool in the stunning shade of Amaranth. If you prefer a similar aesthetic, consider trying Cascade 220 in Heather or Valley Yarns Northampton in Raspberry Heather.
- A pair of 3.75 mm / US 5 circular needles and 4.5 mm / US 7 circular needles, both 40 cm / 16 inches in length.
If you have a larger head size (like I do!), you might find that knitting the brim with a 4mm / US 6 needle instead of the 3.75 mm / US 5 will offer a more comfortable fit. This pattern is perfect for knitters of all skill levels, making it a wonderful addition to your collection of knitting patterns. Not only will you stay warm, but you'll also enjoy the process of creating a stylish accessory that you can proudly wear or gift to a loved one.
So grab your needles, select your favorite worsted weight yarn, and let the relaxing art of knitting take you on an inspiring journey inspired by the natural beauty of Wallace Island Marine Park!
