Watering in the Garden Shawlette
When the postie delivered this exquisite graduated yarn, I instantly knew I had to create something truly special with it. The delicate transition from soft greys to pretty pinks evoked images of flowers blossoming in the garden. Inspired by a day spent watering my plants, this charming little shawlette emerged as the perfect project.
Each section of the shawlette features a unique pattern or motif, reminiscent of the beauty found in my garden. I hope you can see those floral inspirations reflected in the design! The lace pattern sections are thoughtfully divided by rest breaks, with every wrong side row consisting of a simple purl row, making it easy for beginners to enjoy the knitting process. Feedback from my test knitters indicates that this pattern is well-suited for both beginner and intermediate knitters alike.
The pattern includes detailed written instructions and visual charts to cater to your personal preferences. Additionally, I've provided close-up shots of the patterns, allowing you to see the stunning creations you will bring to life. This way, you can clearly envision the beauty of your finished shawlette.
For this project, I utilized 300 meters of fingering or DK weight yarn. For those wishing to create a larger shawl, there’s an option to extend the design at the end, which some of my test knitters happily pursued—resulting in yarn usage of around 400 meters.
