Waves of Happiness is an easy-to-knit, crescent-shaped shawl designed for knitters of all skill levels. This beautiful shawl features a delicate lace border that is knit first, offering a lovely visual contrast to the body of the shawl. Once the lace border is complete, stitches are picked up along its edge, and the body of the shawl is crafted using short rows from the bottom up. This makes Waves of Happiness the perfect project for that special skein of sock yarn you've been saving for a truly memorable creation.

In this pattern, we utilized Laylock's wonderful Crescent Shawl Shaping Worksheet, featured in the popular pattern Shore Shawl, to simplify the short row section. A heartfelt thank you to Derya for making the math wonderfully easy!

It is very important to ensure that the bind-off (BO) is loose enough to allow the edge to spread beautifully. For best results, consider going up a needle size or two when working the BO to achieve the desired stretch. Additionally, we've included instructions for a more stretchy bind-off in the pattern, ensuring your shawl maintains its gorgeous shape and ease of wear. Happy Knitting and may your Waves of Happiness shawl bring you joy and warmth for years to come!
