Wear It with Pride Hat
“You don’t have to be gay to be a supporter—you just have to be a human.” ~Daniel Radcliffe, British actor
As an avid lover of color, I’ve always embraced vibrant palettes in my surroundings. From my childhood bedroom adorned with rainbow hues to my college apartment showcasing a giant canvas featuring a stunning rainbow circle, color has been an integral part of my life. When I designed the Cahoots Sweater in 2017, I had immense fun with color placement, notably starting with a cheerful yellow. After finishing that project, I found myself with an abundance of leftover yarn and envisioned creating a delightful companion piece.
Fast forward four years, and I’m excited to introduce my latest creation: a beautifully crafted rainbow striped hat! The finished piece turned out even better than I had hoped, capturing the essence of every color in the spectrum. Last year, I proudly donated all sales from the Trevor Hat to the Trevor Project, and I am committed to doing the same with this new design. This hat is not only a beautiful accessory but also serves an important cause, making a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth and promoting inclusivity.
The hat is designed to be worn with negative ease, ensuring a snug fit that compliments any style. The combination of corrugated ribbing and stockinette stitch will cause the hat to draw in quite a bit, so keep those floats loose to maintain a clean and professional look. This project is perfect for knitters looking to use up scrap yarn while creating a meaningful, eye-catching accessory.
If you're searching for a fun and colorful knitting project that also supports a great cause, look no further. This rainbow striped hat pattern is ideal for all skill levels and is a wonderful way to express your creativity and support the LGBTQ+ community. Get your needles ready, and let’s knit something fabulous together!
