Continue knitting until you feel satisfied with the length and style of your finished piece. The listed yardage is suitable for small to medium sizes; however, a very long loop may require more yarn to achieve your desired look.

This pattern is ideal for using a nice, lofty DK or aran yarn, which will give your cowl a cozy feel. Alternatively, for a lighter, textured finish that features more drape, consider using fingering weight yarn, which makes it perfect for wearing as a long loop or doubled up around the neck. If you plan to make an upright collar style cowl, we strongly recommend knitting a tension swatch to ensure that the fabric meets your style preferences. Yarns with more loft and less drape are particularly effective for this kind of design.
