Whole lotta love
As a dedicated Led Zeppelin fan and a rough-around-the-edges romantic with a tomboy flair, I’ve created this shawlette pattern to embody that unique spirit. This design features a touch of lace that adds charm without being overly frilly, making it perfect for those who appreciate a balanced aesthetic.
Pattern Level: Intermediate
This shawlette requires a gauge of 20 stitches and 30 rows to achieve 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch. While matching the exact gauge isn’t essential, note that your gauge will influence the overall size of the finished shawlette.
The pattern calls for just one skein of sock yarn, but for those who desire a larger shawlette, it can be easily scaled up by using more yarn and incorporating additional pattern repeats.
Knitting Skills Required: This delightful pattern involves several techniques including knitting front and back into the same stitch, knitting two stitches together, executing yarn overs, slipping stitches, knitting one, passing the slipped stitch over, utilizing a provisional cast-on, and some simple cabling.
The pattern is written in a clear format, making it look intricate at first glance, but in reality, it’s quite straightforward and beginner-friendly for those with some knitting experience. While I used my own hand-dyed yarn for this project, feel free to experiment with any sock yarn or fingering weight yarn you have on hand. I haven’t yet tried this pattern with a heavier yarn weight, but I believe it could create a cozy and warm variant worth exploring.
Whether you’re looking to make a stylish accessory for yourself or a thoughtful gift for a fellow knitting enthusiast, this shawlette pattern is sure to impress. Dive into your knitting adventure today and create a one-of-a-kind piece that beautifully marries romance and rugged charm!
