Winding paths headband

$2.00

This stylish headband/earwarmer design elegantly tapers at the back and is finished with a chic button closure, ensuring minimal bulk at the nape of your neck. This thoughtful design means you can easily put it on and take it off without the worry of damaging your hair by repeatedly pulling it over your head. It's a perfect accessory for chilly days!

The unique combination of a simple cable pattern and “faux” twisted stitch cables creates a beautiful piece that appears intricate but is actually quite manageable for beginners. This makes it an excellent choice for your first cable project! For those who prefer visual aids, a small chart is included to guide you through the knitting process, while the entire pattern is fully written out for those who favor a more traditional approach.

The original prototype was crafted using Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk, a luxurious yarn that, unfortunately, has been discontinued. However, I’ve discovered a stunning alternative in Louisa Harding Thistle. This yarn provides an opulent feel and ideal texture for this pattern.

When selecting your yarn, look for a heavy weight in the Aran range that boasts a good amount of loftiness and preferably has a fuzzy halo – which is characteristic of alpaca yarn. There are many other suitable substitutes available, so don't hesitate to explore different options to find the perfect match for your project.

Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just starting out, this headband pattern offers a delightful blend of style and functionality, making it a wonderful addition to your handmade accessories collection!
