Wrap Me Tender
We all have those days when we don’t feel like dressing up in frilly dresses and high heels. For casual outings like picnics or a quick coffee date with a best friend, sometimes the best outfit is a classic pair of jeans paired with a simple vanilla t-shirt. But even in such laid-back attire, adding a unique accessory like this beautifully crafted shawl can elevate your look and help you stand out from the crowd.
This cozy shawl pattern is designed for comfort and style. Knitted from the top down in an elegant semi-circle shape, it features intriguing short row sections interspersed with alternating dropped-stitch rows, creating a stunning visual effect. While many of our test knitters have chosen to work with two solid contrasting colors, we encourage your creativity! You can opt for long color repeats or even mix and match different hues for the short row sections. For an additional playful touch, utilizing a lighter color for the dropped-stitch rows gives the illusion that the shawl was beautifully serged together on a giant interlock machine, adding a unique texture to your piece.
Not only is this shawl relaxing to knit, but it’s also incredibly comfortable to wear, making it a versatile addition to your wardrobe!
Materials: To create this striking shawl, you will need Skein Sport/5ply (100% Superwash Merino) with 100g/330 yards [300 meters] as the main color (MC), and Madelinetosh 80/10/10 Fingering (80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere) with 100g/405 yards [370 meters] as the contrasting color (CC). You can also choose any light sport or fingering weight yarn that matches the required gauge. This project is perfect for those looking to showcase their knitting skills while crafting a piece that is both functional and fashion-forward.
With this cozy shawl pattern, you're all set to create a beautiful accessory that enhances even the simplest outfits, making your casual days feel a little more stylish and special.
